“‘Queridísima esposa’”: Mecanismos lingüísticos de intensificación en cartas de despedida destinadas a mujeres

This contribution is an empirical research about the stylistic variation and gender differences in discourse in a corpus of letters addressed to women during the Spanish Civil War and the first years of Franco's dictatorship. This contribution belongs to the empirical work analyzing the gender differences in language use and follows a corpus methodology. This study analyzes precisely the mechanisms of linguistic intensification present in 31 letters and concludes that these mechanisms appear more often in the letters having women as addressee.
