Lexical availability dictionaries have proliferated in the Spanish speaking world, but many of them do not critically review previous studies nor set hypothesis that might bring about further development of this kind of research. Taking as starting point the suggestions made by Jiménez Catalán and using the lexical availability dictionary of Italian speaking students as database, the present article will review some of its results and will analyze them according to such suggestions.

Abstract
