This article aims to analyze the specialized language of tourism and its specific features. Tourism continues to represent one of the sectors that offer career opportunities in the labour market. Hence, more and more students opt to study tourism as well as one or more foreign languages or for specific purposes. Our proposal is focused on communication in the field of tourism and aims to foster linguistic and communicative skills our students are likely to develop through linguistic mediation. Specifically, we will present a learning activity in which students have to act as linguistic mediators between Spanish and Italian, in the framework of the organization of an international conference.

Abstract
