The paper presents a critical bibliography of the studies on Japanese-Portuguese relationships during the second half of the 16th century, both in Japanese and main Western languages up to the beginning of the nineties. The aim of the article is to draw sholars attention on the trend of historiography, pointing out the main issues developed, as well as secondary topics.
