This paper is intended to illustrate the potential of teaching art in schools of all levels and to encourage the learning of linguistic and textual elements, as well as developing sociocultural competence. To improve the success of language learning in schools it is beneficial to find new approaches and methods of language teaching. We would like to highlight the nuances of art and to increase motivation based on the enjoyment of learning. Although the texts illustrate art, they also introduce specific vocabulary, grammar and textual analysis – peculiarities that can, using the correct methods, be taught to all types of students – the works of art can instil in the students the ability to learn cultural and sociocultural norms.

Il presente intervento intende illustrare le potenzialità dell’insegnamento dell’arte nelle scuole di ogni ordine e grado per stimolare l’acquisizione di diverse discipline, nonché per assecondare l’apprendimento della competenza culturale e socioculturale. Per favorire il successo scolastico appare fondamentale non basare l’atto didattico sul semplice nozionismo, bensì far leva su una motivazione basata sul “piacere” di apprendere. I testi che illustrano l’arte presentano, infatti, specificità di tipo lessicale, morfosintattica e testuale che possono essere presentate con metodologie opportune ad ogni tipologia di studenti, e le opere d’arte possono veicolare negli studenti l’acquisizione di modelli socioculturali.

Abstract
