Abstract

The linguistic aspects of Karamanlidika literature (Turkish texts in Greek characters) have not yet been investigated sufficiently. The present contribution is an approach to the history of Karamanlidika studies as subject of Turkological and other research. It shows that Karamanlidka has been wrongly classified as a distinct linguistic variety, while it is rather a phenomenon of graphic syncretism.
