The complex scenario of the European Higher Education space, focused on modernisation and convergency of goals, stages the peculiar case of Teacher Education, highlighting tensions between national, cultural features and constraints and European recommendations, with contradictory or diverse outcomes or trends in different national contexts. The EMETT project, within the Life Long Learning programme, has faced such issues in the development of a European Teacher Education curriculum for a joint Master’s degree. The outcomes and reflections of project work deal with European key aspects: mobility, intercultural understanding and multilingualism in teacher education are integrated in the framework of a flexible curriculum which can be described by a fractal metaphor - complexity in an ecological perspective.
