Although considerable research has been devoted to the history of Spanish future subjunctive, some questions remain unsolved. Taking as starting point the results of previous research, the present study can shed some light on the main issues regarding the chronology of its loss, as well as the syntactic types, registers and dialect areas involved. This study is based on the analysis of over 4500 forms in -re extracted from the Corpus de Documentos Españoles Anteriores a 1800.

Abstract
