Le particelle modali del tedesco. Caratteristiche formali, proprietà pragmatiche e equivalenti funzionali in italiano.

Modal particles are phonetically and syntactically reduced, non-inflected elements expressing a range of assumptions and inferences, and giving the sentences they appear in fine-grained meanings that are often difficult to describe. Although they are present in several languages, including Italian, and are particularly frequent in German, they represent a relatively still topic little dealt with in contrastive studies. This volume, which is based on classical literature on the subject, on a rich array of authentic examples of spoken and written language and a new one corpus of translations for the German-Italian and Italian-German directions, is the first large-scale study on the main modal particles of German (ja, doch, schon, halt, eben, auch, denn, bloß, nur, mal) investigated from a contrastive perspective with the Italian language.
