In this article, I discuss the situation of writers' and artists' homes in cultural memory. The places where they lived and created their literary and artistic works are of unique relevance. I am interested in the spaces of Paul Éluard and J.V. Foix, two prominent figures of the surrealist movement who held significant positions in the avant-garde agitation in both French and Catalan, spanning between Paris and Barcelona. The use of these spaces is an integral part of their creative work and served as meeting points and hubs for exchanging ideas. Éluard and Foix were both "homeless" writers, living in rented houses, and little remains of their time in Paris and Barcelona, except for what has been preserved in museums or foundations. Nevertheless, an unfinished project of a bilingual anthology of French surrealistic poetry can be considered another space for coexistence and creation. Exploring the connection between Foix, Dalí, Éluard, and the planned Surrealism anthology can contribute to illuminating the transnational aspect of avant-garde movements, especially the connections between Barcelona and Paris.
