Dante ‘versus’ Petrarca? La funzione-Dante nei canzonieri emiliani del secondo Quattrocento

Starting from the definition of "canzoniere" in the particular meaning that it assumes in the fifteenth century, the intervention identified the main titles that can be placed in the second half of the century and linked to the Emilian courts. Within them, an attempt has been made to understand if and to what extent the Dante-function can contend with the Petrarch-function, which is hypothesized to be dominant, a role of some kind and whether this double presence can bend the songbook-form towards new or at least singular landings. A special place is dedicated to the sonnets of Count Giovanni Pico della Mirandola.

Partendo dalla definizione di “canzoniere” nella particolare accezione che esso assume nel Quattrocento, l’intervento ha individuato i principali titoli collocabili nella seconda metà del secolo e legati alle corti emiliane. All’interno di essi si è cercato di comprendere se e in quale misura la funzione-Dante possa contendere alla funzione-Petrarca, che si ipotizza dominante, un ruolo di qualche tipo e se questa duplice presenza può piegare la forma-canzoniere verso approdi inediti o comunque singolari. Un posto a parte è dedicato ai sonetti del conte Giovanni Pico della Mirandola.
