The operetta attributed to Poliziano (and which today can be even more effectively assigned to him) is inspired by a variously declined humour, which embraces the forms of the Witz, the fable, the anecdote, the short story, the proverb, the bookish fragment, up to non-sense, but identifying itself primarily with the spoken-written discourse. The contribution deals with the libretto from several points of view, from the structural one, which makes it a real collection, to the punctual one, in which the basic structure of the single "saying" is outlined and its various linguistic, rhetorical and lexical mechanisms are illustrated. Finally, there are some historical, critical, sociological and cultural reflections.

Lʼoperetta attribuita a Poliziano (e che oggi si può ancor più efficacemente assegnargli) si ispira a un umorismo variamente declinato, che abbraccia le forme del Witz, della favola, dell’aneddoto, del racconto breve, del proverbio, del lacerto libresco, fino al non-sense, ma identificandosi primariamente con il parlato-scritto. Il contributo affronta il libretto da più punti di vista, da quello strutturale che ne fa una raccolta vera e propria, a quello puntuale, in cui si delineano la struttura-base del singolo “detto” e se ne illustrano i vari meccanismi linguistici, retorici, lessicali. Non mancano infine alcune riflessioni di carattere storico, critico, sociologico, culturale.
