A general procedure to reproduce real SF networks with arbitrary vertex degree distribution densities was studied. Different choices for the probability distribution densities and the linking functions were analyzed. The edges between pairs of vertices were drawn according to a linking probability function. It was found that the generation of scale-free networks was straight-forward irrespective of the particular choices.
