Il prisma della (im)mobilità. Pratiche di appaesamento e esperienze di immobilità di richiedenti asilo e rifugiati, in un’etnografia multisituata tra Nord e Sud Italia

The article analyses the forms of mobility and (im)mobility of migrants and asylum seekers who are outside the institutional reception system. Through the narration of two ethnographic cases placed in Northern and Southern Italy, the authors retrace the biographical and geograph-ic trajectories of migrants and compare them with territorial policies. By analysing two very different contexts from the economic and social point of view, the authors highlight the similarities between these ter-ritories and the inhospitality that characterizes them from the point of view of migration policies. Mobility takes on the value of a prism: a complex set of experiences that give rise and substance to people choices. The narratives of the respondents also show the link between the dynamics of (im)mobility and the dimension of housing, deemed as the subjects’ ability to “feel at home”.
