Under false pretenses This contribution offers a critique of the new European Green Deal, aimed at assessing its potentials and drafting some spatial effects. In particular, it highlights how the Green Deal drifts away from its declared sustainability goals, concerning issues related to an endless economic growth and to the social and ecological spheres. Through a conceptual analysis, driven by a transdisciplinary approach, this work discusses some systemic flaws of the “Deal”, and explores a new roadmap to frame and approach integrated sustainability in this challenging 21st century.
